The Board of Governors of the Daanish Schools Authority has approved an increase in the student quota for Balochistan and decided to reserve a special quota for children from Bangladesh.
The decisions were taken during a board meeting chaired by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. According to an official statement, the special quota for Bangladeshi students was approved on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and will take effect from the next academic year.
The minister said around 1,100 students from other provinces are currently studying in Daanish Schools under the existing special quota system. The meeting was also attended by two Daanish School students who secured top positions in the Matric examinations. The students participated in the discussions and shared their suggestions on various matters.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said 3,460 graduates of Daanish Schools are currently serving in different professional fields, while 110 students are pursuing higher education at Beaconhouse University on full scholarships.
Board members were informed that an artificial intelligence-based curriculum has been introduced for students in grades six to nine, alongside initiatives aimed at improving their social skills.
The meeting was further informed that 16 daycare centres have been established at Daanish Schools and Centres of Excellence, while the plantation of 71,000 trees is being digitally mapped and monitored to track progress.
