Police have detained the man accused of attacking a food delivery rider in Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
According to reports, police conducted a raid in DHA Badr Commercial and took the suspect into custody. The vehicle allegedly used in the incident was also seized.
Police said the suspect was reportedly planning to leave Karachi for another city before he was arrested.
The incident occurred after a minor collision between a car and a motorcycle in the Defense area.
Witnesses said the car driver became enraged, got out of his vehicle, and allegedly attacked the delivery rider with a hockey stick. The rider’s motorcycle was also damaged during the assault.
According to reports, the accused then chased the rider while holding the hockey stick and allegedly issued serious threats.
The delivery rider later approached the police and requested legal action against the attacker.
The incident had sparked widespread outrage online, with many social media users demanding strict action against the accused and better protection for delivery riders working in the city.
