The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that income tax return filing for Tax Year 2026 will officially begin on Monday, July 27, with taxpayers urged to submit accurate and truthful declarations.
In a statement, the FBR advised all taxpayers to file their returns honestly and ensure that all information provided is complete and correct. The tax authority said timely and truthful compliance helps strengthen Pakistan’s tax system and supports fair tax administration.
The opening of the filing portal marks the start of Pakistan’s annual income tax return season, during which individuals, salaried employees, businesses, companies, and other eligible taxpayers are required to submit returns for the relevant tax year under the Income Tax Ordinance.
Taxpayers are expected to be able to submit their returns through the FBR’s online IRIS portal once filing opens on July 27. The FBR is expected to announce the deadline for filing Tax Year 2026 returns separately.
