Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has promoted Lieutenant General Aamer Raza to the rank of Four-Star General and appointed him as Commander National Strategic Command.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister’s Office through its official X account on Friday.
Before his promotion, General Aamer Raza was serving as the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army, one of the military’s most senior operational positions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated General Aamer Raza on his promotion and appointment. He wished him success in carrying out his new responsibilities.
The appointment places General Aamer Raza at the helm of Pakistan’s National Strategic Command, a key position responsible for overseeing the country’s strategic command and control framework.
