More Monsoon Rain Predicted Across Pakistan

Met Office informed that a low-pressure area (LPA) is located over Southwest of Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Due to this LPA, monsoon currents are penetrating in Southern and central parts of the country.

Under the influence of this weather system, the following is the prediction for different areas:

Sindh:

Rain-thundershowers with a few heavy falls expected in Tharparkar, Umer Kot, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sanghar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, Mityari, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Sukkur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Khairpur, Nosheroferoz & Thatta districts from 24th (evening/night) to 27th July with occasional gaps.

Mostly clear weather conditions with chances of rain-thundershower also expected in Karachi on 25th/26th July.

Kashmir:

Isolated rain windstorm/thundershower is expected in (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur) from 24th (evening/night) to 28th July with occasional gaps.

Punjab/Islamabad:

Rain windstorm/thundershower (with isolated heavyfalls) is expected in Lahore, Sheikhupura Okara, Sahiwal, Pak Pattan, Vehari, Khanewal, Multan, Dera Gazi Khan, Rajanpur, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, R Y Khan and Khan Pur from 24th (evening/night) to 27th July.

Mostly partly cloudy at times cloudy weather conditions with rain-thundershower is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Faisalabad, Khushab, Sargodha, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib and Chiniot from 24th (evening/night) to 26th July with occasional gaps.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa:

Mostly partly cloudy at times cloudy weather conditions with rain-thundershower is expected in (Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Nowshera, Charsadda, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Swabi, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Kurram, D.I Khan, Bannu, Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan and Hangu from 24th (evening/night) to 27th July.

Gilgit-Baltistan:

Mostly partly cloudy at times cloudy weather conditions with rain-thundershower is expected in (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar) from 24th (evening/night) to 26th July with occasional gaps.

Balochistan:

Mostly partly cloudy at times cloudy weather conditions with rain-thundershower is expected (with isolated heavy falls) is expected in north/northeastern parts (Zhob, Sherani, Loralai, Kohlu, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Awaran and Khuzdar) from 24th (evening/night) to 27th July.

Possible impact and advice:

Heavy rains may cause Urban flooding in Gujranwala, Lahore, on 24th/25th July While in Bahawalpur, Raheem Yar Khan, Sukkur, Shahed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sanghar, Khairpur, Mithi, Mir Pur Khas, Umer Kot, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Sialkot, Multan and Faisalabad from 24th to 26th July.

Windstorm & lightning may damage weak structures (solar panels, electric poles, bill boards etc.) during the forecast period.

Tourists and travelers are advised to remain cautious during the forecast period.

Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities keeping in view the weather conditions and take care of their livestock as well.
