Epic Angels, the world’s largest all-female investment collective, has invested in Pakistani fintech Oraan, joining existing investors WaveMaker and i2i Ventures in a new funding round that will help expand the company’s gold savings business and support its international growth.
The size of the investment was not disclosed. According to a company statement, the fresh capital will be used to expand Oraan’s gold savings product, build its gold inventory, and support its entry into new markets.
Founded in 2018 by former investment banker Halima Iqbal, Oraan digitizes Pakistan’s traditional women-led savings circles, commonly known as committees, enabling users to save, access credit, and purchase gold through a digital platform.
The company says the model addresses a major gap in financial inclusion, with only 2 percent of women in Pakistan having access to formal credit despite an estimated 60 million participating in informal savings groups.
Oraan launched its fractional gold savings product in November 2025, allowing users to buy gold through fixed monthly installments.
The company said the product has grown 75 times within its first seven months as demand for digital savings options increased.
The fintech is also expanding beyond Pakistan after signing an agreement to license its savings and credit platform to a regional bank, enabling its technology to reach millions of customers in another market.
Commenting on the investment, Oraan Founder and Chief Executive Officer Halima Iqbal said the company’s products are built around the way women already save rather than trying to change their financial habits.
Epic Angels, which first invested in Oraan in 2021, said it remains confident in the fintech’s mission to improve women’s access to savings, credit, and financial services while supporting its next phase of growth.
