18 Pakistani Universities Included in QS World University Rankings 2027

 

A total of 18 Pakistani universities have secured places in the QS World University Rankings 2027, with Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) emerging as the country’s highest-ranked institution at joint 381st position globally.

The latest QS rankings evaluated 1,504 universities worldwide, highlighting the growing competition in global higher education.

Among Pakistani institutions, QAU led the national rankings, followed by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) at 384th place and the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) at joint 560th position. Other notable universities included the University of the Punjab, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and COMSATS University Islamabad.

At the global level, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) retained its position as the world’s top university for the 15th consecutive year in the QS World University Rankings 2027.

The rankings assess universities based on several indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, faculty-to-student ratio, internationalization, employability outcomes, and sustainability performance.

The latest results reflect the continued presence of Pakistani universities on the global academic stage, with institutions striving to improve their performance in research, teaching quality, international collaboration, and graduate employability.
