Homemade Chocolate | Step-by-Step Procedure
Chocolate is one of the foods loved all around the world. It has become a part of our diet. After having a meal, we crave for something sweet like chocolate. But, sometimes we don’t have the option of going down to the store whenever we feel the craving. So, why not make it at your home from scratch.
Ingredients | Dark Chocolate
- ½ cup of coconut oil
- ½ cup of cocoa power
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons honey
Step 1: Measure all the things in the exact quantity which is mentioned above.
Step 2: Turn on your saucepan to the lowest heat setting and add coconut oil in it. Allow the coconut oil to melt completely.
Step 3: Once the oil is melted completely, add vanilla extract and honey in the melted oil. Keep stirring the mixture with whisk or spoon until you get a syrupy mixture.
Step 4: Now add cocoa powder in the mixture. Don’t add all the cocoa powder in at once. Once the cocoa powder is added, use the spoon to distribute the cocoa powder evenly throughout the mixture.
Step 5: Take the mixture out from the heat and keep stirring it until it thickens. Once your chocolate is smooth and the surface becomes little glossy then you have to put the mixture on a non-stick surface. You can put your chocolate in small moulds as well.
Step 6: Finally, put the chocolate in the refrigerator for 1 hour and let it set. When the chocolate is firm enough then you can take it out from the mould. Enjoy!
Note: The aforementioned recipe can yield up to 8 servings.
Just like dark chocolate, you need a few ingredients to make delicious homemade milk chocolate and those ingredients are following.
- ¾ cup of Cocoa powder
- ¼ cup of Milk powder
- 1 cup of powdered sugar

- ¾ cup of Cocoa butter
Step 1: Create a double boiler using a saucepan and a mixing bowl. Fill the saucepan halfway up and place it on the stove over medium heat.
Step 2: Set the mixing bowl on top of the saucepan. The boiling water will heat the bowl from underneath. This will allow you to add all the ingredients without burning them.
Step 3: Add Cocoa butter in the heated bowl and let it melt completely. Use a spoon or whisk to melt the butter faster.
Step 4: After that, add cocoa powder in the melted butter. Make sure there aren’t any lumps in cocoa powder. Keep stirring it with spoon or whisk to mix the ingredients.
Step 5: Now add milk powder in the mixture while stirring.
Step 6: Add sugar and vanilla or chocolate extract in the mixture to bring flavour in the chocolate. Mix all the ingredients until smooth and silky consistency is achieved.
Step 7: Pour the mixture in the silicone moulds or you can pour it in the ice tray. Once the mixture is poured, shake the mould a bit to remove any air bubbles.
Step 8: Put the chocolate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or until the chocolate is completely set. Once the chocolate is firm then remove it from the mould and enjoy your scrumptious homemade chocolate.
