Choose from cool, affordable, or even extremely luxurious masks.

protective face masks by pakistani brands

Unlike fads, masks have become an essential commodity during the coronavirus pandemic. However, for the brand conscious, some big-name Pakistani brands have launched their own line of protective face masks.

While some people contest that brands are taking advantage of the situation, we think every piece of clothing was introduced as a solution to a problem – how to get people to wear masks for their own safety.

Case in point, jeans were invented for miners who needed durable and sturdy work-wear, while streetwear was introduced to match the fast-paced life of the modern generation.

We aren’t quite sure if the brands’ creativity will sit well with some people, but one thing is for sure; these protective masks are here to stay. So, while we might have to let go of random smiles to our friends passing by, why not have fun with these fun designer masks?

It’s about time people realize that the virus is not going away anytime soon so might as well get on with the trend.

Here’s a list of all the big-name Pakistani brands that introduced protective masks as a part of their summer collection:

Shehla Chatoor

The luxury lawn and bridal collections by Shehla Chatoor are always in the spotlight for being extravagant. The brand launched its own bridal masks which are heavily embellished to go well with its bridal dresses.

However, the top Pakistani designer did not launch these masks as a collection and plans to make them according to customers’ demands.

Shehla did receive a lot of heat from Pakistanis for cashing in on the pandemic. But, since it’s an exclusive offer for brides who wish to wear protective masks during their quarantine wedding, we think it’s totally fine.

Khaadi

While Shehla Chatoor is selling over-the-top and most definitely expensive bridal masks, Khaadi has launched a pocket-friendly line of masks.

These masks are chic and trendy and cater to the younger audience. We love the use of bold colors and designs. These masks will most definitely make you stand out, and hey, they’re reusable and economical.

Khaadi set the price at Rs. 190 for almost all of these protective masks.

Ali Xeeshan

Lahorw-based fashion designer, Ali Xeeshan has launched both – bridal couture and daily wear – protective masks. While he will provide his bride-to-be customers with bridal masks if they require it, Ali Xeeshan isn’t a fan of it.

Decorated, personalised surgical masks are great for daily wear. We are making some of those and even masks for weddings, if clients require it. But personally, I feel that a mask diminishes a bride’s beauty to some extent.

He is creating masks with mixed and matched embroideries.

Huma Adnan

Huma has launched a line of party masks as well as regular masks. She claims that these radiant masks are more effective than regular surgical masks because of the two layers of fabric and a filter.

These masks are definitely on the expensive side with the price set at Rs. 1500. However, they can be used for up to 8 weeks, which might make up for the price you pay.

Al-Karam’s masks are quite the opposite of chic and trendy. The plain matte masks are sold in sets of 3 and are priced at Rs 150 / set.

They are selling them for both adults and kids, so make sure you check them out.

Generation

Generation is selling trendy and stylish face masks in pairs. They are going for as low as Rs 200 to as high as Rs. 350, depending on the design.

Each mask has three layers, and there are two different sizes to choose from.

Concluding thoughts

The thing about fashion is that is always unpredictable and changing with the times. Pakistanis are more open to these designer masks than ever before. And we hope this encourages everyone to follow SOPs no matter where they go. Oh, and if they want to look pretty and cool while wearing it, that’s good too!

Have a dinner party to attend? Don’t worry Huma Adnan has got you covered. Feel a little chic today? Maybe grab one of those Khaadi’s face masks. There’s a face mask for everyone!
