A doctor in Peshawar helped a 71-year-old coronavirus patient celebrate his birthday in the hospital. In times like these, when visits to the Intensive Care Unit, where the patient is being treated, are not allowed, this doctor proved that a small act of kindness is enough to bring smiles to everyone’s faces.
In the video that was posted on Twitter, the patient can be seen cutting his birthday cake with the health official by his side. The 71-year-old clapped in excitement and brought smiles to everyone who watched the video.
Finance and Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Taimur Jhangra, later retweeted the video saying,

The number of coronavirus cases has risen to 113,702 in Pakistan, with more than 2,000 deaths. However, health care officials across the country have shown true determination and dedication. Their efforts have been noted and appreciated by each and everyone in Pakistan.
But according to Qaisar Sajjad, secretary-general of Pakistan Medical Association, the worse is yet to come:
June and July are very crucial as we expect a sharp rise in already fast-increasing coronavirus cases in the country.
I don’t foresee good days ahead vis-a-vis coronavirus cases. They are going to shoot up in coming weeks.
He further added that even doctors and nurses are going into self-isolation after testing positive for the virus and that the gap is being filled by inexperienced young doctors.
Over 2,200 doctors, nurses, and technicians have already gone into self-isolation after getting infected by the virus across the country. Young doctors with no required experience are being pitched to handle ICUs, and ventilators in several hospitals to bridge this gap, which is not good at all.
