Osman Khalid Butt Creatively Trolls K-Electric in Twitter Brawl

Hang in there, OKB!

Osman Khalid Butt

If you’ve ever lived in Karachi, also known as the ‘City of Lights,’ you know that a single droplet of rain means no electricity in major parts of the city for long hours. There’s no way of knowing when lights will be back, as we all curse the power company K-Electric (KE) for making our lives hell. What happens when an outsider faces the wrath of KE? Islamabad-based actor, Osman Khalid Butt, had to find out the hard way.

Osman got to experience the torture first hand for presumably the first time. He, of course, isn’t one to remain silent.

After having no electricity in his area for almost 12 hours, the Ehd-e-Wafa star couldn’t help but take to his Twitter account. Addressing his Tweet to K-Electric, the 34-year-old complained to the company.

Of course, as someone who has seen how KE usually sends robotic replies to complaints, Osman wasn’t impressed. He wanted to know what the power company was smoking:

I don’t think that’s what ‘early resolution’ means, @KElectricPk.

K-Electric had been posting updates on their main Twitter account. They kept saying that issue will be resolved at the earliest. However, after the Diyar-e-Dil star’s tweet got traction, they absolutely had to respond.

We can sense OKB’s frustration covered with his awesome sense of humor when he wrote back and said,

I know, we’ve been sliding into each other’s DMs since 5:30 pm. At this point one of us should ask the other out.

Almost 4 hours after their little banter, the Balu Mahi actor was still without electricity. Keeping in mind that the Pakistani actor was sitting with no electricity in his area since 5 pm, at around 8 am, Osman posted another hilarious jab at KE.

The year is 2048. The Resistance battles the Global Hive Mind Corp. Humans wonder whether they can live in a world dominated by artificial superintelligences.
Meanwhile, @KElectricPk is still waiting on an update from their area teams, and sincerely regrets the inconvenience.

2 hours later, and the Baaghi actor was in the dark, literally. This time the customer helpline informed him that he will have to wait another 15 hours or so.

Latest update from @KElectricPk helpline: it might take up to 15 more hours for electricity to be restored.
I may spontaneously combust with rage.

He also shared their not-so-romantic direct messages, where KE seems to be copying and pasting the same response repeatedly.

We can truly feel your pain, Osman Khalid Butt, but hang in there! And we understand had it been someone else, they would have taken the next flight to Islamabad and left. Maybe Osman finally figured out what KE actually means when they say:

“Inconvenience is sincerely regretted.”
