When the shoe fitted Cinderella, she and the Prince lived happily ever after. But to add a little twist in the story, let’s say her shoe broke a couple of days after the purchase. What would the prince do? Well, this prince from Karachi dragged the shopkeeper to court – in hopes that the seller will be fined for causing his wife ‘heartbreak’ and ‘depression’. How dare he sell a faulty shoe to his wife!?
A lady in Karachi strolled about the busy commercial area of Tariq Road, looking for the perfect pair of shoes. She ended up buying a pair worth Rs. 1,600, but little did she know her money would go to waste.
A few days after her purchase, one of the shoes broke into pieces. This caused her a lot of depression and heartbreak. And her husband could not bear to see her in this condition. He took the matter to court and let the law decide the shopkeeper’s fate.
The Consumer Court Karachi East has accepted the man’s plea to take action against the fraud shopkeeper and has summoned witnesses for the next court hearing. Perhaps the seller could explain his shortcomings and eagerness to make a few bucks by selling faulty products.
This bizarre love story isn’t the only one on the block; another couple was in the news earlier for their odd display of affection. Nadeem Jamali decided to take his own life by climbing a pylon. Shortly after, his wife showed up at the scene and [angrily] convinced him to climb back down.
We hope this lovestruck husband also sees his happy ending, and the shopkeeper’s actions are accounted for in court. What do you think of this ‘faulty shoe’ story? Share your views in the comments section.
