Despite the current ban on Pakistani artistes working in India, Pakistani starlet Saba Qamar is hopeful that she’ll get to work in Bollywood again.
As the ban by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) ban doesn’t extend to digital content, Saba Qamar is starring in the ZEE5 web series ‘Mrs. & Mr. Shameem‘. However, the starlet is hopeful to work on a Bollywood project.
Saba Qamar made her Bollywood debut with Hindi Medium opposite Irrfan Khan. Unfortunately, she couldn’t return for the sequel Angrezi Medium due to Indo-Pak tensions. Though she is very grateful for the love she received across the border.
“I didn’t get the chance to thank all of them. I am touched, overwhelmed, …I am glad I was nominated in Filmfare’s best actress category alongside Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut, Sridevi and Alia Bhatt. I feel lucky to have got the opportunity to work with Mr Irrfan Khan,” she said in a telephonic conversation with PTI.
She then voiced her positive outlook towards these tensions blowing over.
“I am hoping for the best, I am a positive person and God willing, I will work in Bollywood.”
Till then we still get to see in a web series on an Indian streaming platform. The Mrs. & Mr. Shameem trailer alone has garnered massive praise. In fact, fans been anticipating the release of the web series ever since the announcement that ‘Baba-e-Award’ Naumaan Ijaz and Saba Qamar are set to star in a web series together.
