In an interview with an Indian news agency, Saba Qamar discussed the content of Pak-Indian films and dramas.

Saba Qamar’s career rose to fame after she played a lead role in Bollywood’s Hindi Medium with iconic late actor Irrfan Khan. She was recognized not just in Pakistan but also in India for her exceptional performance in the movie. Also because of her phenomenal acting skills, the Cheekh diva was even praised by Bollywood A-list celebrities.

Saba in the interview said that she considers herself lucky to have worked with Irrfan Khan in her Bollywood debut. She further said that when Vidya Balan praised her for her acting in Hindi Medium and she felt like “she was over the moon.”

The diva still craves to work in Bollywood and have high hopes to continue someday when the tension between Pakistan and India would settle.

“I have a positive mindset and I’m hoping for the best. If God will, I will do more films in the future,” said Saba.

She went on saying;

“I am hopeful for the better, I am a positive person and God willing I will work in Bollywood again”.

Saba is famous for giving controversial statements. Recently, she even termed Indian content to be better than Pakistani content. The actress said that she is glad that the Pakistani and Indian industry is drifting away from homegrown and kitchen stories and anchoring on the main problems of society.

The model cum actress said that in India, the characters that you show on screen, you are giving life to these characters, bringing issues to light among individuals and it is important to do as such.

Comparing Pakistani content to Indian Qamar said that we have restrictions on television in Pakistan. We can’t show bold scenes, we can’t cross boundaries but despite all this, we talk about problems and people are learning from them.

“We’ve played a lot of heroin. There is more to life than just being a good daughter and a good couple. In fact, we face a lot of difficulties and we need to talk about these issues” said Saba Qamar.
