A woman in India kills her newborn baby by putting her in a microwave. Police arrest a mother in South Delhi after committing a heinous crime.
According to the reports, police found the baby girl dead inside an old microwave. The infant was reported missing as the Malviya Nagar police place the mother of the infant in custody.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of South Delhi shared details with a local media outlet.
“Staff from Malviya Nagar police station rushed to the spot,” said DCP Benita Mary Jaiker. “Neighbors then informed us that they found the girl in an old oven. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained. We are questioning the mother and other family members to ascertain the facts and sequence of events. The infant’s parents, Gulshan Kaushik and Dimple Kaushik, are being interrogated at the police station and further investigation is underway.”
The woman also has a 4-year-old son. During the time of the incident, Dimple Kaushik’s husband as well as the rest of the family member were at a nearby departmental store that they manage. Around 3 am, the family started suspecting something was wrong as the woman had locked herself in a room with her son.
“We found her lying unconscious and took her to the hospital. Meanwhile, we realized that the infant girl was missing. The woman refused to speak about the child, and we got scared,” said a family member.
After extensive searching, the baby girl’s body was found stashed in an old oven. The infant’s dead body was wrapped in a cloth, as family members firmly believe the mother to be the suspect. According to them, she was unhappy with the child.
