Internet has a field day with PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz after her party lost the Punjab by-elections to Imran Khan and PTI. Cue the meme-fest!
On 17 June, people of Punjab came out in droves to punch their vote for the all-important by-elections. The outcome of this crucial Punjab by-election would determine the fate of the province and change the Pakistani political landscape.
The results are in as Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) won 15 out of 20 seats to defeat the sitting government PML-N. The victory came as a major blow for PML-N and its Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.
It is NOT a good time to be a Maryam Nawaz supporter right now. Even though Maryam is currently in quarantine due to COVID-19, she tried her best to win some support by conceding defeat ‘gracefully’.
