Adnan Sami Khan Awarded Padma Shri With Bollywood Celebs

The singer has been awarded the fourth highest civil honor in India.

After winning several civil accolades in India, singer Adnan Sami Khan has been honored by the Indian government yet again.

The singer has been awarded the fourth highest civil honor in India. Adnan Sami Khan along with actress Kangana Ranaut and filmmaker Ekta Kapoor received the Padma Shri Award for contributions to the field of performing arts.

Both celebs received the award on November 8th.

The award was presented to the Maahi Ve singer by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The President of India even tweeted a photo of the composer receiving the Padma Shri Award

“President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Adnan Sami Khan for Art. He is a world renowned and celebrated music composer, concert pianist, singer and actor.”

After leaving Pakistan, composer and singer Adnan Sami Khan permanently moved to India. The musician switched his nationality.

Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut also received the award at the ceremony. Donning a gold saree, the Queen star was pictured being presented the Padma Shri by President Kovind.

The actress was last seen in the Jayalalithaa biopic Thalaivi. She also recently received the National Award for Best Actress for her performances in the films Manikarnika and Panga. The former was her own direction.

Meanwhile, Indian filmmaker Ekta Ravi Kapoor received the same award for her contributions to art. She is the chief mentor and Joint Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms Limited.

Other accolades handed out in the ceremony included 7 Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan, and 102 Padma Shri Awards. 29 awardees were women and one awardee is a transgender person.

The Padma Awards have been presented in various fields, such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service, and so on.
