After Surviving Coronavirus, Yasir Nawaz is Donating His Plasma For Others [Video]

This really is a good gesture.

Both Nida Yasir and her husband, Yasir Nawaz, have gone through a tough time since they tested positive for coronavirus. However, both of them have now recovered and they have taken it upon themselves to encourage others like them for plasma donation.

 

 

For those of you who are unaware – researchers have been testing the possibilities of treating COVID19 since it first started to spread. It is believed that Convalescent Plasma (or CP) from a recovered patient can help those who are severely ill or in a critical condition.

Since people who recover from the coronavirus develop antibodies that can kill the virus, their CP is now being transfused into critically ill patients.

While there are some people who have been taken advantage of this situation, and selling their blood for lakhs of rupees, Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir have adopted the right way to go about it.

 

 

Although the two received a lot of backlash and heat when they initially contracted coronavirus on their morning show in violation of SOPs, they are now ready to put that fiasco behind them.

Both celebrities went to Sindh’s DOW University on Saturday, right after their recovery, to make the donation. Dow posted an official statement made by Yasir, so let’s take a look:

It is nice to see people like Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir making an effort, while others are trying to sell their plasma and earn money out of something as life-threatening as the COVID19 pandemic. Blood donation has always been considered as a voluntary and selfless act, so why turn it into a profit-making enterprise, especially in the midst of a pandemic?
