‘Aik Papi Idhar, Aik Papi Udhar’: Altaf Hussain Celebrates Court Victory

The London jury has found the infamous founder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain not guilty. The jury believes the MQM leader did not encourage acts of terrorism in Karachi.

Altaf Hussain is one of the most controversial figures in the Pakistani political field. The British-Pakistani currently lives in exile. He became a fugitive by the Anti Terrorism Court of Pakistan on the charges of murder, targeted killings, treason, inciting violence and hate speeches. Every now and then the MQM founder would make news with his speeches and public appearances. Most recently, he had a friendly interaction with TikToker Hareem Shah.

The exiled MQM leader was facing charges of inciting violence with his speech on 22nd August 2016. However, the Kingston Crown Court judge Mrs. Justice May has acquitted Altaf Hussain of the charges. The majority of the jury (10 out of 12) found Altaf Hussain not guilty when he made his two speeches from London to his followers in Karachi.

The video clip of Altaf Hussain celebrating the verdict in “typical Altaf bhai” style has set social media abuzz. Netizens are in shock over the ‘not guilty’ verdict.
