If you were a fan of the early 2000’s Pakistani music, then you most definitely have heard of the rock band Noori. Ali Noor made his debut in the music industry in 1996 when he joined hands with Muhammad Ali Jaffri to form the band. He has countless fans all around the world. But recently, the 43-year-old upset most of them with his comments on marriage.
In an interview with Samina Peerzada, the music artist revealed interesting details of his love life. He says he has never been in love, however, Noor did develop an infatuation with a girl earlier in his life. But the concept of marriage doesn’t suit his perspective and ideologies.
When Samina Peerzada asked him how he feels when everyone around him is getting married, he said:
I don’t believe in marriage… I think marriage doesn’t cut it for me and as a concept I don’t agree with it.
Ali Noor also added that he hopes his children don’t have to go through marriages as he and his generation did. He also said that marriage is nothing but a contract:
Marriage cannot become something that you do for others – it has to be for yourself and you have to be fully responsible for that. But unfortunately, marriage as an institution is only to satisfy others. It is only to be able to walk in the streets with dignity, so people don’t say our children are bastards.
The Nasha singer also revealed that as a lawyer he has seen countless divorce cases, and that helped him observe and learn. He says he doesn’t have regrets, but he would love to erase everything and do it all over again.
