The voice of youth, Asim Azhar has lent his support to students on multiple occasions and with the third wave of coronavirus hitting us hard, the singer made a request to the education minister to cancel the exams.
With COVID cases on the rise, students have been requesting Shafqat Mahmood to cancel/postpone the on-campus exams, prioritizing their health. Asim Azhar also raised his voice on the issue and made a valid point.
“Who will be responsible if kids take covid back to their homes just so they could appear in exams? @Shafqat_Mahmood sir?”

And,
“Also, when I ask my government to cancel the exams this year, I also ask them to activate strict lockdowns thru out the country. Aisa nahi hai ke bas exams cancel hojayen aur baaki mulk mai party chalay. I hope we all agree on this as well.”

Asim Azhar is glad that exams are cancelled
Thankfully, all examinations have been cancelled. Federal Minister Education, Shafqat Mahmood made the announcement on his Twitter handle yesterday.
“Addressing health concerns of students and parents All exams cancelled till June 15 and depending on the spread of the disease may even go further. Cambridge exams postponed till Oct/Nov for all grades. Only exception for those in A2 who have a compulsion to take exam now.”

The singer is glad that the government has changed its decision. Taking to his Twitter, he congratulated the students but also advised them to ‘cancel’ their parties and get together(s) as well ‘until we’re done with covid’. Just because exams have cancelled, doesn’t mean we get to the party. He wrote,
“Mubarak bacho. Ab khuda ka waasta hai parties aur get togethers bhi cancel karna apne aur ghar baithna until we’re done with covid.”
