While you do get to hear the name Rayan in desi households, Hoorain, as a name, is not that common. Turns out there’s a unique story behind that name.
In a recent episode of Jeeway Pakistan, Aamir Liaquat asked Ayeza the inspiration behind the name, and she said,
“When I found out it’s a girl, there was just one name that kept occurring to me.”

Turns out, the name was inspired by a TV character.
“The interesting thing is, that there used to be a famous drama at that time, Mera Sultan. And the character of Hooram was pretty famous too. So everybody kept recommending me the name Hooram for my daughter. But I wanted a different name for my daughter. Something that would only belong to her,” Ayeza explained.
The actress further shared,
“I kept searching for more names and the name Hoor-ul-Ain caught my eyes. It was so beautiful. So when my daughter was born, the doctor asked me if I had any name in my mind. At that moment, I said ‘Hoorain’.”
That is so beautiful.
