BLACKPINK Dethrones BTS For Most Viewed YouTube Video

They are making history.

BLACKPINK

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK is not only breaking records but is also setting new ones in the music industry.

The girl group now holds the title for the ‘the most-watched video on YouTube’ with their latest song How You Like That. The previous record-holder was Korean group BTS who gathered 74.6 million views in 24 hours with their music video Boy With Lyv featuring Halsey. That video was first released in April 2019.

However, BLACKPINK has conveniently topped that number and amassed 86.3 million views within 24 hours of the release of HYLT.

Not only that, but the HYLT has also become the fastest video in YouTube history to hit 100 million views – with 94 million in the first 30 hours. The song was released on 26th June and within a time frame of 1.5 days, it achieved the milestone. Whereas BTSBoy With Luv MV had taken 1.6 days.

BLACKPINK Makes A Comeback

The girl group has reclaimed the title for 24-hour views on YouTube from BTS after previously setting that mark in April 2019 with Kill This Love which garnered 56.7 million views in its first 24 hours. The song topped Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next.

They have also made several appearances in American shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden. They are the first-ever K-pop girl group who performed at the 2019 Coachella music festival.
