The Islamabad Protest turned Pakistan’s capital city into a battleground. The police resorted to using teargas shelling against protesters. However, after talks with the protesting government employees, they have been granted a 20% increase in salaries.

Islamabad Protest

A mob of angry government employees had taken to the streets to protest for a raise in their salaries. In order to disperse the mob, the police responded with a baton charge and threw hundreds of teargas shells.

 

 

The protestors were spread across the city – including areas like Constitution Avenue, Secretariat Block, and Cabinet Block. They reportedly also tried breaking into the Red Zone. A lot of netizens expressed their disappointment in how the police treated the government employees.
