Prominent Pakistani actor and director Khalid Butt passed away in Lahore due to complications related to kidney and liver diseases, as reported by local news on Thursday. Family sources mentioned that the actor’s funeral prayer is scheduled to take place after the Asr prayer on Friday.
Having initiated his career in the 1970s, Butt gained fame for his roles in numerous Urdu and Punjabi films and television series. His last appearance was in the drama serial “Khaie,” with Faysal Quraishi and Durefishan Saleem.
Beginning as an assistant director, Butt eventually directed a film and contributed to various popular television dramas, films, and theatre plays. Recognized for his artistic contributions, Butt was honored with the Pride of Performance award.
His notable performances include roles in PTV productions such as “Jangal Pura” (1997), “Boota to Toba Tek Singh” (1999), and “Landa Bazaar” (2002), showcasing his acting prowess.
