‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ Takes Over Desi Twitter & We’re Feeling The Love!

Give peace a chance!

We finally got our first look at the Dhoop Ki Deewar trailer and it’s heavy. Now #DhoopKiDeewar is trending on desi Twitter and we’re definitely feeling the love!

The trailer is bound to hit you with so many feelings with an added dose of alexithymia (when you can’t describe your feelings).

“No matter who wins the war, both nations face the loss.
When everything falls apart, what will they choose: Hate or Heart?”

While unpacking our feelings can be hard, we can still baseline the technical details of why we love the trailer.

‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ is trending on social media. Despite having a Pakistani cast and director, this Indian web series is trending across South Asia. People are talking about all these years we’ve lost to hate and still going…

Pakistani Twitter is in awe over the lead actors’ performance as #SajalAly and #AhadRazaMir trends on Twitter. They’ve already got us wanting to know more about how Sara Sher Ali (Sajal Aly) and Vishal Malhotra (Ahad Raza Mir) take decades of animosity and turn it into a story of love, peace, and acceptance.

Pakistani Twitter still seems to be relating more to ‘Sara’ but hopefully watching the web series will enlighten people some more on how everyone loses in war.

Right now we’re all assuming that this is a love story, blaming it on our inner fangirl shipping Sajal and Ahad. But maybe this is just a cross-border friendship?

Friendship or love, we stan peace.

Aside from shared grief, the web series also highlights how people on both sides of the border are the same. From valuing family to conforming to age-old practices. The dilemma of ‘it is this way because it’s always been this way.’
