Driver Caught Speeding Tells Police He Did It To Avoid Coronavirus

A novel excuse for a novel virus.

It is shocking to see how little people know about the coronavirus or COVID-19. The only thing we do know for certain and which the WHO has begged people to understand is to stay home, wash your hands, maintain social distancing and avoid traveling. One genius in Surrey, England found a loophole around these precautions – by trying to outrun the coronavirus in a car, Fast & Furious style!

Recently, a driver was caught doing 130mph on the M25 by Surrey Police. The officer stopped the motorist and asked why he was speeding. According to the police officer, the driver claimed that he was trying to avoid the coronavirus.

“I thought the faster I went the less chance I would catch coronavirus,” the driver said in his defense.

This sounds more like a potential plot for a future Fast & Furious story! Imagine Dominic Toretto (aka Vin Diesel) outrunning in a cloud of deadly coronavirus gas, in a Toyota Corona! To all the Hollywood executives reading this, make it happen!

But all jokes aside, we shouldn’t be surprised at how ridiculous this is. After all, there are people who still believe that coronavirus can be contracted by things with a name ‘corona’ on it. Don’t believe this? Just ask the manufacturers of the beer brand Corona, who had to stop production of their product due to people being too afraid to buy it in stores.

The moral of the story is that you can’t outrun coronavirus in a car, you can’t stop it with bullets or guns like some superhero, and more importantly you can’t contract coronavirus with items that have word ‘corona’ in it. Stay home, stay safe and always wash your hands.
