Netizens have ‘mixed feelings’ towards the honorary appointment of cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi as Deputy Superintendent (DSP) of KPK Police.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is on top of the world these days. The fiery pacer led the Lahore Qalandars to championship of the 2022 Pakistan Super League (PSL). He became the youngest captain ever to win T20 tournament. And his breathtaking spell against India in the T20i World Cup has made him a national hero.
The young cricketer is also set to tie the knot with Aqsa, the daughter of former cricket legend Shahid Afridi. Shaheen is definitely living the dream life. But that’s not all. Did you know that Shaheen Shah Afridi is also promoted to Deputy Superintendent of  Khyber Pakhunkhwa!
That’s right. It is weird to see Shaheen Shah Afridi in a police uniform but here we are. Recently, the KPK government had a special event for the young pacer. The police of KPK made Shaheen their ‘Good Will Ambassador’. That’s not all, KPK Police appointed Shaheen as an honorary Deputy Superintendent (DSP), one of the highest ranks in police. The internet has mixed feelings about this “special appointment”. Some folks took to social media to congratulate Shaheen, trolling the police by suggesting that they finally have a more “slim” officer.
Other felt upset with this honorary promotion, believing it is unfair to people who cleared the CSS examination but are not given the highest police posting (DSP).
