Fans Relate The Story Of ‘Bakhtawar’ With Iconic Serial ‘Parizaad’

Like ‘Parizaad’ ‘Bakhtawar’ is also revolving around protagonist!

Today’s playwrights and script writers are now understanding the clichéd tales of ‘roti dhoti aurat’ (the always-crying woman) and ‘saas-bahu jhagre’ (mother-and-daughter-in-law brawls) are over. That’s why dramatists are moving toward showing women’s empowerment through the portrayal of strong-willed women. Like the serial Bakhtawar.

There was this obsession with portraying female characters as weak-willed damsels in Pakistani drama serials. The portrayal of women as weak characters who sit idle, waiting for a protagonist to save them, is not going to work anymore. Not to mention they are obsolete and boring.

Actress Yumna Zaidi is back with a bang in the drama serial Bakhtawar by Shahid Shafaat and surpassed such stereotypes. Her strong character made the audience cry and laugh with her. Written by Nadia Akhtar, Bakhtawar takes audiences on an emotional rollercoaster, packed with suspense and entertainment.

Yumna Zaidi plays the titular character of Bakhtawar, who lives in a small house with her mother. The story is about a young girl changing her identity to fight the evils of society. The show tackles sensitive societal issues and delivers a strong message. Aside from Yumna, the cast includes  Zaviyar Nauman, Saqib Sameer, Mizna Waqas, Noreen Gulwani, Shamoon Abbasi, Sunil Shankar, Huma Nawab, and Adnan Shah.

Parizaad

There is a colossal debate going-on on social media about the uncanny similarity between the serial Parizaad and Bakhtawar. This Yumna Zaidi’s serials also seem to be revolving around the protagonist and other characters are just making the story move. And both of them had to face hardships and difficult situations through the first half of their life. Let’s see if Bakhtawar will also have a happy ending with everything becoming smooth for her like Parizaad or not.
