Folk Punjabi Singer Malkoo Shuts Down Rumors of His Arrest

The popular singer performed at a folk festival in Sargodha.

In the midst of rising speculations surrounding his arrest, acclaimed Folk punjabi singer Malkoo has taken to social media to quash the rumors.

In a video recorded from his farmhouse, the singer reassured fans about his well-being, attributing the unfounded reports to jealousy circulating in the wake of his success as one of Pakistan’s top trending artists.

The controversy stemmed from Malkoo’s recent participation in a folk festival organized by the Parks and Horticulture Authority in Sargodha, running from December 7 to 13. While performing at the event, he sang a song titled ‘Qaeedi # 804’ (prisoner number 804), which subsequently triggered a series of false arrest rumors.

Speaking to a private digital news outlet, Malkoo vehemently denied all reports of his arrest, emphasizing that there was no truth to such claims. He clarified that, due to the massive crowd at the folk festival, security personnel were enlisted to manage the chaos and ensure his safe exit from the stage.

Addressing the situation, Malkoo explained,

When the police were taking us out of the procession, someone made a video and mischievously started propaganda on social media.

He further stated that the police’s involvement was solely for security purposes, preventing any untoward incidents amid the surging crowd.

Despite the unwarranted rumors, Malkoo remains focused on his music career and expressed gratitude to his fans for their continued support. The singer’s clarification comes as a testament to the prevalence of misinformation on social media platforms and the need for vigilance in discerning accurate information.
