This sacred rite of pilgrimage is a must for all Muslims to perform once in their lifetime. However, due to the current economic crisis, many people are unable to make the journey this year.

Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to the Holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. One of the five pillars of Islam, Hajj is mandatory for all Muslims, as they must at least perform it once in their lifetime. This sacred rites of pilgrimage takes place on the last month of the Islamic calendar, Dhu al-Hijah. The pilgrimage itself is performed over a period of five to six days, from 8th to the 12th or 13th of Dhu al-Hijah.
