When we think of our favorite princesses, we often recall one of those Disney princesses or even Lady Diana. Well, thanks to the success of Ertugrul Ghazi in Pakistan, we can now confidently add Esra Bilgiç or Halime Sultan as we know her to this list.
The Seljuk princess dons a variety of ‘modest chic’ looks that even give Jordan’s Queen Rania Abdullah a run for her money.
For those of you that weren’t paying as much attention to the costume changes, subtle details about Esra-Bilgiç’s costume as Halime Sultan change with the circumstances.

We might assume the warrior princess consistently dons the same headgear we see her in the posters. We have all seen those blue flecks that go with her blue costume.

But did you know what happens to this headgear whenever our favorite princess goes to travel or battle? The costumes that she fights and travels in have less elaborate headgear. Smaller, and shorter so as to not obscure her vision and more red details.

As we see more of her fiery side and as she grows into a mother (and queen), her costumes also undergo a change. She’s now dressed more like a chieftain-in-charge. We even see more colors in her headgear. This is a pretty cool stylistic shift that lets the audience see her evolve right in front of their eyes.
