Doctors, nurses, policemen, and essential service providers have been fighting the coronavirus pandemic head on. These people are the most susceptible to the virus, yet they are putting their lives at risk to try and contain the spread in Pakistan.
Lives have been lost and the number of infections are increasing day by day, yet the only thing constant in these times is that some individuals are being most negligent.
One of the top stylists in the country, Nabila, who also owns Nabila’s Salon is currently receiving a lot of backlash on the internet. She decided to re-open her salon, and although she equipped her employees with protective gear, many folks believe that she could have donated the PPE gear instead.
According to Nabila’s detractors, in the midst of a pandemic, getting yourself groomed and styled should be the least of anyone else’s concerns. Keeping the country alive and healthy should be at the top of everyone’s priority list.
However, Nabila considers her team to be part of the ‘essential workers’ who should be out on the frontines. She shared a video on Instagram justifying her decision to open her salon, along with the safety precautions her team has taken. However, even that did not deter her haters and many folks could not contain their anger:

People think that Nabila’s tone was quite elitist and condescending to say the least. Her detractors are not convinced how she says that she’s suffering the most.
We are a firm believer of the maxim that ‘no publicity is bad publicity’ but in this case; it seems like Nabila may have framed her message and tone better. The public mood seems to indicate so.
