Javeria Abbasi Explains How Ex-Husband Shamoon Abbasi Is Also Her Step Brother [Video]

From her step-brother to husband, ex-husband back to step-siblings again

While there have been plenty of movies about step-siblings falling in love, Javeria Abbasi and Shamoon Abbasi were an example that it is possible.

Despite fans shipping the two, the marriage didn’t last. They are now parents to a daughter, Anzela Abbasi. That makes for some complicated family dynamics. From step-siblings to spouses and back to just step-siblings again.

In her recent appearance on Nida Yasir’s Shan-e-Suhoor, the Dil, Diya, Dehleez actress shared how her ex-husband became her step-brother.

Javeria Abbasi and Shamoon Abbasi became acquainted when Shamoon’s father married Javeria’s mother.

They fell in love and got married, but spilt after having a daughter together. The Taana Baana star addressed how the ordeal can be confusing for some.

“People get really confused with this story, … So I don’t want to create any confusion. The rest of our siblings were from our mother and father. That’s why people get really confused whether Anoushey Abbasi is my sister or Shamoon’s. She’s both of our sister.”

Blended families can’t always make someone accept a step-parent’s child as a sibling.

Nida Yasir even shared how their story was adapted into a drama serial Hum Tum. Directed by Rana Rizwan, Hum Tum was produced by Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir’s production house, Fareed Nawaz Productions.

Khurram Fareed penned the script.

“Javeria’s mother and Shamoon’s father got married. Javeria and Shamoon were step-siblings,” Nida explained.

Meanwhile, the Sotayli actress opened up about being a single parent following her divorce.

“I can give my child a great life from whatever I earn. I don’t need a man. I raised my child well. I have an amazing daughter; she’s beautiful; she’s working and I’m so happy that she’s a well-educated girl. What else do you want in life?”

Shamoon Abbasi has previously talked about his emotional attachment style and how that was detrimental to his initial marriages, without naming Javeria Abbasi.

Javeria Abbasi also shared how she landed in the biz. Turns out it had nothing to do with following in the footsteps of the fam.

“I went to Express Talent as an audience member, … I always wanted to go backstage and meet the artists. Nayla Jaffrey saw me there when I went to ask her for an autograph. She asked me to audition instead. After that, I worked with your [host Nida Yasir’s] father for the first time, got my first award for the same PTV drama. Did a lot of struggle as well,” said Javeria.
