Mahira Khan Compared Herself to Jennifer Connelly

…. while sharing her views on taking small roles

Mahira Khan - Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad

As Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad is set to release on Eid-ul-Adha, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa are already promoting the film. During one of her public appearances, the Superstar actress shared her views on taking small roles and also compared herself to Jennifer Connelly.

Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan were at the Arts Council on Thursday evening for the Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad trailer release.

The subject of the Shehr-e-Zaat actor’s reduced screentime came up Nabeel Qureshi said;

“Mahira has a pivotal role in the film. She’s a huge star and I don’t think she’d agree to work in a film that doesn’t have a strong female character.”

That’s when the Sadqay Tumhare star shared that she wouldn’t mind doing a small role for the right film. Then while comparing herself to Jennifer Connelly, the Humsafar actress also dubbed Fahad Mustafa her Tom Cruise.

“You’re wrong, Nabeel. I would do a small role in a good film because I believe it is important to be a part of good films. So, I hope I can be a Jennifer Connelly to my Tom Cruise.”

Mahira Khan shared how everyone carries the film together, not just the actor playing the protagonist.

“I had always thought to myself, ‘I carry my films. I carry them. I don’t need anybody.’ And then I then thought, that’s the wrong way to think about it. I don’t carry my films; everyone carries that film. Together, … This is what we were taught initially when we first came into the film industry. We all, this generation, were taught that YOU bring the box office numbers. I see Top Gun and I see Jennifer Connelly, who is by far one of the best actresses in Hollywood.”

Meanwhile, the film’s protagonist, Fahad Mustafa was last seen in the 2018 Nadeem Beyg blockbuster, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. That same year his film Load Wedding also made waves.

He teamed up with filmmakers Nabeel Qureshi and Fiza Ali Meerza again for his upcoming Eid-ul-Adha release.

Also part of the Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad cast are industry veterans Javed Sheikh, and Nayyer Ejaz. As well as revered artist Saleem Mairaj.
