Man Arrested For Brutally Beating Stepson Over Eating Fruit Without Permission

After a video of a man beating his minor stepson over eating a fruit went viral, the culprit was arrested. Mohammad Naveed was arrested on the charges of beating the minor boy over a petty issue.

The general public was outraged after Mohammad Naveed, a resident of Bhagwari mohalla in Rawalpindi was seen brutally physically assaulting his minor stepson in a viral video. The child could be heard screaming as the man beat him with a piece of rubber pipe.

Police Step In For The Stepson

As a result of the incident’s viral fame, the city police officer (CPO) took notice of the issue. On the CPO’s directives, the concerned police traced the man and registered an FIR against him. Dawn News reports, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Ghafoor of Banni police traced the person and recovered the victim.

According to ASI Abdul Ghafoor, after he reached Mohammad Naveed’s house, it was revealed that he is married to Rukiya Naveed after the death of her first husband. He said in the FIR that the boy;

“Mohammad Tayab, was from Rukiya’s first husband, and lived with her. The boy was beaten up by his stepfather for eating a banana without his permission.”

Police said several torture marks were found on Tayab’s body when the boy was medically examined. This implies the brutality exhibited by his stepfather in the viral video was probably not a one-time occurrence.
