A man has been arrested in Lahore by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for blackmailing TikTok star Jannat Mirza.
The suspect, who was identified as Asfandyar, is accused of doctoring images of Jannat Mirza and her sister Sehar Mirza and posting them online.
Jannat had filed a case against him at the Cyber Crime Division of the FIA. Two other men were also taken into custody along with Asfandyar in Lahore.
He confessed that he started harassing the sisters after being rejected by Sehar. As an act of revenge, he photoshopped her pictures and sent it directly to Sehar. However, Asfandyar claims that he never made them viral.
He has been handed over to the FIA on a two-day physical remand.
Meanwhile, Jannat shared a screenshot of a news item regarding the arrest made by the FIA. The TikToker said that legal action will also be taken against people who shared lewd photographs and videos.
She also asked her followers to seek her help if they ever fall victim to cybercrimes, harassment, or blackmail. Jannat is willing to fight for them and has also created a separate account where they can reach out to her for queries.
