Mortal Kombat 11 is replacing its traditional Shang Tsung avatar with the one that looks like the actor who played him in 1990s Mortal Kombat.
MK series co-creator Ed Boon revealed at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo Shang Tsung is the first character who will be added to Mortal Kombat 11 as downloadable content.
Tagawa-san is coming back!
The DLC character Shang Tsung, is the final boss of the original Mortal Kombat. In Mortal Kombat 11 the avatar will resemble actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, with his voice too.
The actor played the character of Shang Tsung in the 1995 movie based on the game franchise.
Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa also reprised his role as Shang Tsung in the live-action web series Mortal Kombat Legacy.
Tagawa will also serve as the host and guide for The Krypt, the campaign mode that was first introduced in Mortal Kombat X. In this mode, players may spend the coins that they have earned in matches, on different kinds of bonuses.
Besides Shang Tsung, Boon and NetherRealm Studios revealed another character in the main roster of Mortal Kombat 11. Noob Saibot will be returning for Mortal Kombat 11 after his hiatus following Mortal Kombat (2011).
Besides that, the character of Shao Kahn has been made pre-orderable with the Beta version of the game. This makes him the second character after Goro to be made pre-orderable.
Shao Kahn was the final boss in Mortal Combat II but was non-playable at the time. This time he’ll be doing some active damage.
