It is official —  Mehwish Hayat is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as part of the Ms. Marvel series. The Punjab Nahi Jaungi starlet walked the red carpet for the show’s premiere event in Los Angeles, USA.

 

While everyone was busy snapping pictures of the confirmed cast of Ms. Marvel, Mehwish Hayat’s inclusion in the show was a tightly kept secret. Which is why, the Pakistani actress’s surprise appearance at the Los Angeles event made headlines on social media.

Mehwish Hayat Is Not The Only Pakistani Actress In Ms. Marvel

We still don’t know what Mehwish’s role will be in the series, as is the case with Fawad Khan. However, we have another exciting development as Pakistani veteran actress Samina Ahmed is also in Ms. Marvel!

Looking elegant as ever in a black and antique gold silk saree, Samina was thrilled to be at the premiere event. The veteran star talks about the show’s significance in prompting Pakistani culture and praised Iman Vellani for landing such a huge role.

“To see this very young girl leading us all,” Samina Ahmed said, “I think it’s beautiful.”

Other notable Pakistani actress present at the event was actress Nimra Bucha, who confirmed her role as a potential villain in Ms. Marvel.

Meanwhile, Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy made her presence felt, looking stunning in a Sana Maskatiya outfit. She took pictures with the cast and crew, including Marvel President Kevin Fiege.
