Pakistani singer-songwriter Abrar-ul-Haq calls out Karan Johar and T-Series for stealing his popular song “Nach Punjaban“. Bollywood is blatantly using the song to promote Karan’s Dharma Production film JugJugg Jeeyo.
India may have one of the biggest film industries in the world, but their music industry is a disgrace. Although there are many big Indian artists, most of their singers rose to fame stealing songs from Pakistani artists. For years, Indian singers have ripped off original songs from the likes of Atif Aslam,, Hadiqa Kiani and now Abrar-ul-Haq.
Indian director Karan Johar and T-Series steal the iconic song “Nach Punjaban”. Karan Johar is blatantly using the song to promote his upcoming Dharma Productions film JugJugg Jeeyo.
I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all.@DharmaMovies @karanjohar

“I have not sold my song ‘Nach Punjaban to any Indian movie,” Abrar-ul-Haq tweets, “and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like Karan Johar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all.”
We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song #NachPunjaban released on iTunes on 1st January, 2002 & available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel, owned by @1Moviebox, for #JugJuggJeeyo produced by @DharmaMovies. Song “Nach Punjaban” has not been licensed to any one. If someone is claiming it , then produce the agreement. I will be taking legal action.#NachPunjaban

While T-Series claim to have bought the rights to the song, Abrar-ul-Haq says otherwise. The singer made it clear that song isn’t licensed to anyone. The ‘King of Pakistani Pop’ is more than ready to take legal action.
Have some shame.
All we know is, that said song was written and sung by @AbrarUlHaqPK when we were kids.We grew up listening his songs like:
Bilo de ghar
Jatt chariya kachehri
Nach Punjabanand the list goes on.
And if he's saying you have no rights, then we believe him.— Qamar U Zaman (@zamanqammer) May 23, 2022
Bollywood is quick to ban Pakistani artists, but still keeps lifting songs from Pakistan and ruining them. This time its Nach Punjaban in the #JugJuggJeeyoTrailer 🤦♂️#JugJuggJeeyo

The general consensus on Twitter is that T-Series and Karan Johar are stealing songs from Pakistan without even crediting the artists. People call out their hypocrisy for removing Pakistani artists from their YouTube channel but have no problem using their songs without their permission.
