The news was shared by Feroze Khan on his official Twitter handle while Sana Javed was also ecstatic at the news. Feroze Khan and Sana Javed played the lead male and female roles of Mir Hadi and Sanam Khan respectively in the play.

The drama was nominated in six different categories of the recently held Lux Style Awards. The title track of Khaani, sung beautifully by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, has received over 40 million views on YouTube so far.
The Khaani cast also includes Saman Ansari and Mehmood Aslam in the lead roles.
