Police Recovers 4 Kilos of Chars from a Couple in Karachi

On Thursday morning, a couple was arrested for allegedly selling chars or hashish in Karachi. The couple was detained from the Memon Goth area in the Malir locality. According to the police, at least 4 kilos of contraband was recovered from the car.

Karachi Police reported that they have recovered around four kilograms worth of chars contraband from the possession of the suspected couple. The car has been seized as well.

Police officials revealed that the arrest came as a result of a confidential tip-off they received from the area. This led them to stop the car at the right time and conduct a thorough search.

The driver, as well as the couple, were immediately taken into custody, police said, adding that they were questioning the detainees about their accomplices.

A similar case came to the limelight in February 2019 where at least 48 kilos of chars was seized from a taxi in Karachi.

The suspect had hidden the drugs inside his taxi and according to the SSP, the drugs were brought to the city in a truck from Peshawar.

Previously, the Airport Security Force arrested a passenger in January 2019. The passenger was trying to smuggle drugs to Qatar at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan Airport. The drugs were hidden inside pomegranates and oranges. Around 3 kilograms of chars was recovered from his possession.
