Kashmiri actress Zaira Wasim sent shockwaves throughout Bollywood when a few weeks ago, she decided to quit Bollywood. The child actress became a household name after her dazzling performance in DangalĀ opposite Aamir Khan in 2016.

The decision to quit Bollywood did not go down well with a lot of people (such as Raveena Tandon, who at one point called her ‘ungrateful’). Zaira had cited her relationship with her religion as the reason behind quitting the show business.

She said:

I want to focus on my relationship with God.

She goes on to add that her ‘relationship with her religion was threatened.’

The 18 year old actress’ decision spurred a huge debate in Bollywood.

Zaira had won the National Film Award for her role as a female wrestler in the film for the Best Supporting Actress in Dangal.

Zaira Wasim Quit Bollywood Because of Spiritual Reasons

Now, none other than the director who launched her to superstardom in 2016, has something to say about the child star quitting Bollywood.

Nitesh Tiwari had a lot to say, and his reply was a measured one. Here’s what he said:

“She has every right to live her life the way she wants to. It’s unfortunate (her decision to quit films)…. such a talented actress is walking away, but yeah we have to live with it.”

Tiwari supports the fact that Zaira Wasim’s decision to continue acting or not is entirely her call. The industry has no right to dictate how she should spend her life.

But at the end of the day, its her call. Who else rather than her to decide what she wants to do with her life.

Zaira Wasim will be appearing opposite Priyanka Chopra in “The Sky is Pink”.Ā Mr Tiwari meanwhile is looking forward to ChhichoreĀ which is set to debut its first trailer on August 4.
