As news of the postponement broke, a video of Shahveer Jafry and Danyal Zafar with Mahira Khan surfaced on social media raises questions.

Yesterday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that the sixth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been postponed, after seven players and one support staff official tested positive for Covid-19.

Cricket fans were left disheartened. At the same time, PCB’s bio-secure bubble arrangements and reservations for foreign players were also questioned.

It was also revealed that Peshawar Zalmi’s Head Coach Daren Sammy and skipper Wahab Riaz were reintegrated with other members of the squad without following necessary bio-secure protocols. The step was taken after Zalmi refused to take to the field against Lahore Qalandars without the duo.

Reports suggest that families of the players also joined the bubble without quarantining or undergoing proper testing. They were also seen interacting with other players in the stands at National Stadium, Karachi.

Shahveer Jafry jokes about meeting PSL players

As news of the postponement broke, a video of Shahveer Jafry and Danyal Zafar with Mahira Khan surfaced on social media which has raised ample questions.

When Mahira Khan asked him whether he has seen a live match before, his reply raised severe health concerns among the fandom.

“I have even high-fived a player or two,” he said.

This prompted shocked reactions from Mahira Khan and Danyal Zafar.

“But not on the field, right?” the Verna star asked.

But if that is true, he could have breached the bio-secure bubble. Shahveer’s response has irked many. While some say that the YouTuber was probably joking around, others are really questioning the authorities. Shahveer, however, is yet to respond to his remarks.
