With plus-size models like Haddiya Javed and Faiza Saleem, it seems that the world of fashion in Pakistan is becoming more inclusive than ever. Now, another brand is making headlines with its chic and classy clothing line for the curvy ladies.
Hafsa Jamal, who has dealt with body-shaming herself, started the clothing line last month. She is a mass communication graduate who has her own YouTube channel. Hafsa uses the video-sharing platform to indulge with the audience, and know more about her target market.
The motive behind my brand is to create a positive impact and let girls own their body the way it is. I want all curvy girls to look beautiful and fashionable.
With a huge gap in the fashion industry that is now being fulfilled by brands like ‘Slay by Hafsa’, we can expect a much-needed change in the apparel business. Hafsa herself also expects her brand to bring confidence and acceptance in young girls.
It was my social media platform from where I had the idea to launch such a brand. There were plenty of girls who sent me messages about them wanting to try fashion trends but could not collect the courage. My presence helped me to reach out to people easily as well.
