Stranger Things: Season 4 Breaks The Record For Biggest Premier Weekend

It proves to be the ultimate blockbuster after ‘Squid Game’

After three years of waiting, the famous Netflix original series Stranger Things season four has been finally released. And soon after its release, it breaks the record for the premier weekend which was previously held by another series Bridgeton season 2.

Stranger Things is set in the 1980s and follows a gang of young misfits battling scary dimensional monsters that threaten to destroy their small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Stranger Things became an instant hit since its launch back in 2016 with a blend of horror themes and a likable cast.

One of the most popular and talked-about series in recent years, Stranger Things is Netflix’s most successful original production. The streaming service has come to a multi-year agreement with the show’s creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, aka the Duffer Brothers.

According to Netflix’s newly released Top 10 rankings, Season 4 of this sci-fi series was viewed for 287 million hours during the week. Landing in the No. 1 position after three days of its release. Not only this season but all four seasons are back in the top 5 titles of the week. Here are Netflix’s Top 10 lists for the week.

Previously Bridgerton Season 2 was the most-watched Netflix English-language TV title in its premiere weekend with views of 193 million hours in Netflix history. And now the Stranger Things 4 holds the title breaking the record by 50% of Bridgeton 2.

Part 2 of Stranger Things Season 4 will arrive on Netflix on July 1, consisting of two episodes. The series has already been renewed for its fifth and final season.
