Actor Ahmed Ali Akbar heard disturbing sounds coming out of a tree while on a hike through Margalla Trail 5 in Islamabad over the weekend.
The Parizaad star shared the eerie video on his Instagram on Monday. Ahmed Ali Akbar added a warning disclaimer to let his fans know that what he heard from the tree “is not fake”.
Akbar wrote in the caption:
While shooting at Trail 5, Islamabad, we experienced something bizarre. The tree must’ve been a foot and a half in diameter and it had a perfect hole the size of a coin. The sound you hear is coming from inside the hole.
The sounds coming out of the tree can be best described as a creature in distress crying for help. The viral clip scared everyone on social media as people tried to figure out what could be making the eerie sounds.
With Dil Yeh Pukaray playing all over social media, it is hard not to dismiss that the trees are in on the viral trend as well.
Actress and VJ, Anoushey Ashraf, who is also a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Ambassador, also joined the conversation in the comments. She believes that it is the tree itself making the strange sounds due to “severe dehydration”. She wrote,
It’s asking for help! Literally crying for help. She needs water desperately. Severe dehydration. Nature has stories for those who listen. These are warning signs.
The actress shared a link to Smithsonian article to back her theory. However, according to the article, “trees undergoing stress form tiny bubbles inside their trunks, which causes a unique ultrasonic noise”. It is to be noted that ultrasonic sounds are inaudible to humans.
People continue to argue about the mysterious noise, with one netizen convinced that the hole is a gateway to an alternate dimension!
