Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat has been making waves on social media for her excellent portrayal of Aisha in the Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel.
The actress, who debuted in the fourth episode of Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s directorial project, was lauded on Twitter for her role in it.
Mehwish Hayat features in the series as Ms. Marvel’s great-grandmother, Kamala Khan, alongside Fawad Khan as her husband, Hassan. Fans praised the two as one of the greatest couples in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Many are now calling for Mehwish Hayat to be featured as DC’s Wonder Woman. It all started when a fan account drew parallels between her and DC Comic’s portrayal of the superhero and several netizens agreed.

Mehwish Hayat had been interviewed by Disney Central about her character Aisha a while ago, and she discussed the comparisons between Hollywood and the Pakistani entertainment industry, the series’ respectful depiction of Pakistanis and Muslims, and Iman Vellani’s acting debut.
When she was asked about the unique worldwide cast for Ms. Marvel, Mehwish Hayat recalled that most of her sequences were shot in Thailand, with just a handful in Pakistan.
She added, “I actually lost count of the nationalities that were part of creating this whole magical journey for people to experience. But it was literally a moment of me where I was sitting there and thinking, wow, this is all real. This was a really fascinating experience for me”.
