Umar Khan, also commonly known has Ukhano, was recently under fire as multiple women came forward with incidents of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior at his hands. There was a multitude of screenshots posted of conversations on social media apps Instagram and Snapchat, where Khan can be seen making lewd comments and asking the women for intimate pictures. One woman also came forward and stated that Umar Khan attempted to rape her.

Ukhano takes action

The vlogger recently filed an FIR against the rape case of grounds of false information under Section 420 of the Pakistan penal code, which entails cheating and dishonesty, including property distribution as well as the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act; section 20 (offences against the natural dignity of a person) and 24 (cyber stalking). He also took to Twitter and posed a copy of his FIR.

Cases filed under Section 420 of the PPC are punishable by up until seven years of imprisonment, whole sections 20 and 24 of the PECA can entail imprisonment for 3-4 years and approximately Rs. 1 million in fines.

After posts of him surfaced with allegations of sexual misconduct, Khan released a video, stating his innocence and denying all accusations.

He said:

“I’ve worked very hard my whole life, shot several videos and have worked with a lot of women. I’m certain I’ve never made any of them uncomfortable,” he said. “The reason I’m making this video is because I owe you guys the truth and the truth is that I know this person and I’ve worked with this person and that is it. Other than that, whatever allegations and claims have been made against me are lies.”

He went on further to say:

“I appreciate all media forums that have published my side of the story as well and would urge the other forums to do the same. Please see the truth as I don’t want to publish this evidence. Someone’s life can get ruined because of it. That is against my morals and integrity,” the 28-year-old said in a video.

A number of YouTubers have come out in support of Umar Khan, which including Eva Zu Beck and Taimoor Salahuddin aka Mooroo. Zu Beck also stated that during their travels to Concordia, she had never felt uncomfortable around Khan.

However, some people are not convinced of his innocence, such as Irfan Junejo and various others.
