What’s Wrong with Haroon Rashid Marrying Late?

Why is his marriage a problem?

Haroon Rashid

Singer/songwriter Haroon Rashid recently tied the knot with Farwa Hussain at the age of 47. As it happens, people can’t stop criticizing him for marrying so late. It seems like no matter how people choose to marry, people just want to criticize.

What some of them seem to ignore is that there is no set timeline in place that everyone must follow, especially when it comes to marriage. Everybody is entitled to make their own life decisions and everyone being critical of them proves this society still has a long way to go.

Haroon took to his Instagram account to share the news of his marriage. He wrote,

I’M MARRIED!! Yesterday evening we had a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony in Islamabad for close family only. I feel blessed and overjoyed to have married one of the most amazing human beings I have ever known. True love is such a powerful and beautiful thing.

He further added that he waited his whole life for the perfect partner.

I have waited my whole life for this. I’m looking forward to this exciting new chapter of my life with my beautiful and charming wife by my side.

People’s Reactions

Marriage is a beautiful bond between two people. The only people who have any right to hold an opinion is their families.

And then we have these strangers online, people who have no relation to the singer behind Dil Dil Pakistan yet they felt obliged to flood social media with their pre-conditioned notions.

Let’s take a look at what everyone commented on the adorable couple’s photos on Instagram:

It is important to note here that the singer posted a wedding update on Twitter, and later deleted his status possibly because of the criticism he received.

While Haroon took the decision to share the happy news of his marriage with fans, not everybody wanted to join in on his happiness.

You can get a degree at 50, find a job at 30, marry at 60, and have children whenever you want. Haroon Rashid marrying at the age of 47 is as much a celebration as anyone else marrying in their 20s or 30s. We wish the couple a happy married life together.

One hopes that people who are actually trolling Haroon, they could be better served if they raised their voice against child marriages and marital abuse. Finding love is hard, and these trolls could certainly do well to remember this.
